Notable Changes from the Previous Year
Toyota retained last year’s redesigned model but slightly changed some trims. The SR5 trims now have an SX appearance package with plenty of options for a unique design. These include dark grey 18-inch wheels, darkening the rear 4×4 badge, black door handles, and rear bumper middle section. Interior accents also change to black with Tundra badges removed.
Infotainment and Technology Features
With the standard 14-inch touchscreen, the infotainment system stands out on all trims. The user-friendly setup features wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, wireless charging and USB ports. The upgraded heads-up 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster ensures a better driving experience, with quick access to critical information.
Exterior Design
With a striking design, the athletic front facia has an aggressive grille, a wider stance, and a sculpted hood that emphasize the vehicle’s exterior. It has an advanced lighting system, a boxed ladder frame for rigidity, and a power extendable mirror to increase the field of view. The rugged look extends to the rear with a functional bed built to haul and tow heavy loads.
Interior Comfort and Cargo Space
All trims feature two seating rows with a capacity of five passengers. Lower trims offer ventilated and heated front seats, while higher trims have 10-way power front seats made with Semi-Aniline leather. The SR5 and higher models have heated 8-way power-adjustable seats, and for all models, the rear glass raises and lowers for easier access to the bed.
Engine and Performance Features
This four-door pickup truck is powered by the i-FORCE 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 engine connected to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The transmission includes ECT-i of shift mode, uphill/downhill shift logic, and two TOW/HAUL driving modes.
Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
The Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard on every model to keep you safe on the road. It delivers the most advanced safety systems, including pre-collision systems, lane tracing assist, lane departure alert, full-speed range dynamic radar, and left turn intersection support. Other driver assistance features include blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and trailer merge warning.
